About
DREAMERS is an online magazine dedicated to compiling and sharing the creativity and dreams of Bristol people. We're interested in exploring futures more equitable, loving and harmonious than the one we live in today. DREAMERS does not have a theme - it is simply a home for experimentation, imagination and speculation. We are particularly excited about giving a platform to writers, artists and thinkers who don't have traditional 'credentials'.
Culture features essays, interviews and reviews, publishing fresh perspectives from Bristol writers. Creative exhibits imaginative, experimental Bristol creativity in the form of poetry, short fiction and visual art.
DREAMERS manifesto
This manifesto is morphing and growing alongside the magazine. We welcome and encourage those involved in DREAMERS – or interested in being involved – to ask questions, bring ideas, and take part in co-creating it.
Experimentation is central to the heart of DREAMERS and why we exist. Creating a fertile environment for learning and growth will require slowness, patience, and an attitude of understanding over judgement. We're drawn to the possibilities offered by practicing open dialogue and sincere communication across all aspects of the magazine.
We want to work with Bristol people from a wide variety of lived experiences. Having a diverse community helps DREAMERS produce work that's meaningful, expansive, kind, and genuinely interesting.
We are especially interested in publishing the work of people who don't have the "credentials", contacts or other privileges that often support creative ambitions. We want to encourage writers and artists to give themselves permission to try new things, present new perspectives and explore futures not-yet-reached.
We want to encourage people to get audaciously ambitious, to experiment and express themselves. To build a world more fulfilling, equitable, and harmonious than the one we live in today, we must first be able to visualise it.
